Nitish should at least get special status for Bihar from Modi after crossing fence: Hardik

Patna: Patidar reservation movement leader Hardik Patel, who projected himself as neither an anti government person nor a friend of oppostion here, today asked Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to prevail on the Narendra Modi government to grant special status category for Bihar, saying it was a minimum expectation from him as he was voted to power as leader of grand alliance and later switched over to NDA, describing it as a step taken in the interest of people of the state.

Mr Patel while addressing a meeting of Patel community , said that he was not a person of either anti government or friend of opposition and had come to Bihar for creating awareness among Patel and its related communities to fight for their due rights.

The impression that he was in Bihar to oppose Nitish Kumar was also completely misguided having no trace of truth, he cleared.

It is true that Mr Kumar was voted to power as chief minister in capacity of leader of grand alliance but after about 20 months, he joined hands with BJP to form a new government, saying the decision taken, was in interest of the people of Bihar, Mr Patel said, adding that the least expectation of the people from Mr Kumar that he should prevail on the Narendra Modi government to grant special status for Bihar.
