Muzaffarpur: Participating in a dharna against ESSEL electric supply company at Maripur here on Saturday in support of power consumers’ grievances, former deputy chief minister and BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi (SuMo) alleged fraudulent purchase of power transformers worth Rs333 crore in Bihar.

Modi said he has already complained to the CAG and state vigilance bureau in this connection with a request to order an inquiry into the embezzlement of government money. He alleged that transformers worth Rs90 crore and AD switches had been purchased without any tender. Modi claimed the state government failed to set up even a single power plant on its own during last 10 years. He said 99% of power consumed in Bihar comes from central pool.
