Three held, huge arms and ammunition seized in Munger

Munger: Three persons were arrested Tuesday with a huge cache of arms and ammunition from different places in Munger district, a police officer said. 

Acting on a tip off, the police arrested one Md Neyaz from Bardah-Purab Sarai road and seized three automatic pistols and 90 ammunition which he was carrying on his bicycle to deliver to a client, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sanjay Kumar Singh said.

Singh said Neyaz revealed during interrogation that he had purchased the weapons from Md Mehboob and Md Imtiyaz from Bardah village, following which the cops raided the duo’s houses and recovered large quantity of ammunition among other materials.

While 400 ammunition of 7.65 mm pistols, besides raw materials used for processing weapons were seized from Mehboob’s place, 19 ammunition of 8mm rifles were seized from Imtiyaz’s house, the ASP said.
