Two killed in hailstorm in Bihar

Hajipur: Two people including a 70-year old woman were killed when hailstorm lashed Vaishali district today.

Police said here that heavy lumps of ice fell on the head of old woman Samundari Devi during hailstorm at her native Senduari village under Sadar police station area leading to her death on the spot.

Local people infuriated over the incident blocked Hajipur-Mahua road demanding adequate compensation to family members of the victim woman.

Traffic on several other roads was also disrupted after trees fell on them due to hailstorm.

In another incident, a 40 year old woman was killed when a mud wall collapsed and fell on her at Chechar village under Bidupur police station area.
