St Joseph, Mount Assisi students excel
2 min readBHAGALPUR: The students of St Joseph School grabbed all the three top spots (Bhagalpur zone) in the commerce stream of ISC Class XII exams, the results of which were announced by Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) on Monday. While Neha Sharma topped with 98%, Simran Salampuria secured second position with 97.75% and Ravi Goyal came third with 97% marks.
In science stream, Abhilasha More of Mount Assisi School topped with 97% whereas Bhavna Bharti of the same school came second with 95.2% and Anjali Jha of Mt Carmel stood third with 94.2% in the zone.
Aparajita Singh and Pushkar Jaiswal of Mount Assisi School shared first position with 92.8% while their schoolmate Pragya followed them with 92.6% in Arts stream.
However, in ICSE Class 10 merit list, Samarthya Jha of Mount Assisi not only topped in the division but also secured 2nd position in the state in science stream with 97.83% whereas Soumyajeet Majumdar of the same school, with 97.17%, and Aditya Aman of St Joseph with 97.16%, stood second and third in the division, respectively.
Belonging to a middle class family, district topper and second rank holder in the state in Class 10, Samarthya wants to join an IIT and become an economist after postgraduation from London School of Economics. Samarthya’s father and principal of Jawahar Navodaya School at Khagaria, D K Jha said his son aims to do research in technology as well as economy. Giving credit to his wife Rupa Mishra, he said she had been instrumental in their son’s success.
Neha wants to become a chartered accountant (CA) and wishes to bring positive changes in the financial sector with no scope for anyone to generate black money. She wants to simplify tax laws and curb black money so that there doesn’t exist any parallel economy in the country. Her father Ramgopal Sharma said, “Neha’s mother is no more to see the excellent result of her daughter.” Neha wants to get enrolled in Lady Sri Ram College of Commerce in Delhi besides preparing for chartered accountancy.
