Old woman killed in hailstorm in Vaishali

Hajipur: A 70-year old woman was killed when hailstorm lashed her native Senduari village under Sadar police station area in Vaishali district today.

Police said here that heavy lumps of ice fell on the head of old woman Samundari Devi during hailstorm leading to her death on the spot.

Local people infuriated over the incident blocked Hajipur-Mahua road demanding adequate compensation to family members of the victim woman.

Traffic on several other roads was also disrupted after trees fell on them due to hailstorm.

At least 200 huts were damaged in local area due to the hailstorm, police added.
