7 injured as high-tension wire falls on bus

Seven persons of a marriage party suffered burn injuries in Katihar district after a high-tension wire fell on the bus they were travelling in during the wee hours today, police said.

The bus was on its way to Kheria village near Kursela from Mansahi Bishunpur village along State Highway-77.

The injured were admitted to a nearby Primary Health Centre.

“A high-tension electricity supply line fell on the bus and members of the marriage party travelling in it suffered shocks. Seven of them suffered severe burn injuries and we are treating them,” said Dr Mukesh Kumar of Kursela PHC.

The doctor said the seven injured were not in a critical condition and will be discharged after treatment.
