All’s not well in Bihar grand alliance, Lalu sons Tejashwi, Tej Pratap skip Nitish Kumar’s Cabinet meeting

All does not seem to be well with the Nitish Kumar-led grand alliance government in Bihar. Several ministers remained absent from the Cabinet meeting convened by the Bihar chief minister today. The absentees included RJD supremo Lalu Prasad’s sons Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap and Education Minister Ashok Chowdhary of the Congress.
Even though Nitish and Lalu claim that the relations between the two are normal, the war of words between the JD(U) and RJD leaders point towards the contrary. Panchayati Raj system was to be discussed in the Cabinet meeting convened today.
Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav and his elder brother Tej Pratap were supposed to attend the meeting, as also the others. However, the two change the programme at the last moment. Not just the two but also Congress leader Ashok Chowdhary skipped the Cabinet meeting.
Mediapersons were waiting for the three ministers to attend the meeting so that they could ask questions such as India Today’s ‘Udta Bihar’ sting operation and Bihar 12th Board result scam. But they were deprived of the chance as the ministers did not turn up in the meeting.
In any case, their absence has further given credence to reports that RJD-JD(U) relation is going through a rough patch.
