Asad Imam is Congress candidate for Purnia
1 min readPATNA: Asad Imam, who runs a series of educational institutions including engineering, polytechnic and teachers` training colleges in Purnia region, was on Friday declared Congress`s official candidate from Purnia-Araria-Kishanganj constituency for Bihar legislative council election for local body seats scheduled for July 7. The Congress has already announced candidatures of Rajesh Ram and Isarail Rain from West Champaran and Saharsa-Madhepura-Supaul constituencies, respectively. Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Friday gave her formal approval to the candidature of the three.
BPCC spokesperson H K Verma said the party president approved the panel of candidates sent by the state Congress committee. BPCC president Ashok Choudhary, in a statement, called upon all party workers in Bihar to work hard to ensure victory of all the 24 candidates of JD (U)-RJD-Congress-NCP alliance in the council polls including three of Congress.
