Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday saw the health department’s presentation on redevelopment of Patna Medical College and Hospital into a state-of-the-art hospital and pointed out the need to segregate and have residential quarters for doctors, paramedics and nursing staff at one place on the campus so that patients do not face any problem with regard to movement.

“I will suggest that residences for doctors, paramedics and nursing staff should be at one place. The patients will not face any problem if hospital and residential areas are segregated,” Nitish said. Viewing the presentation at his official residence in the presence of health minister Mangal Pandey, chief secretary Anjani Kumar Singh, principal health secretary Sanjay Kumar and other officials, Nitish said soundproofing techniques should be used for residential area so that patients do not face any difficulty for noise.
