CM opens “Langota Mela” in Biharsharif
1 min readBIHARSHARIF: Chief minister Nitish Mumar on Friday inaugurated the weeklong ‘Langota Mela’ by offering a langota (loincloth) on the samadhi of Baba Maniram in Biharsharif.
Baba Maniram, a 12th century saint and a great wrestler of his time, was a contemporary of Makhdoom Yahya Maneri. His samadhi is located at Akharapar in Biharsharif where devotees from across the state offer ‘langota’ to pay their respect and seek his blessings.
The CM also participated in a prayer meeting held on the premises of the Akhara temple. He went around the temple premises and discussed its development with the committee members.
Nitish, who chose not to interact with media on this occasion, was accompanied by state rural development minister Shrawan Kumar, rural works department minister Shailesh Kumar, Nalanda MP Kaushalendra Kumar, Biharsharif MLA Dr Sunil Kumar, Patna range DIG Rajesh Kumar, JD(U) leaders Bipin Kumar Yadav, Neyaz Ahmad, Ashish Kumar and othrs.
Nalanda DM Thiyagarajan SM, Nalanda SP Sudhir Kumar Porika, Akhara Committee secretary Amarkant Bharti received the CM.
