Congress did as much as possible for Bihar when it was in power at the Centre: Quadri

Patna: Amid charges levelled by some parties that Congress did nothing for Bihar while it was in power at the Centre, acting chief of Bihar Congress Kaukab Quadri today said the state was given as much financial assistance as possible during the regime of Congress led UPA government from the year 2004 to 2014, besides taking steps in direction to grant it special status category.

Mr Quadri said here that it was baseless on part of some parties to accuse Congress of doing nothing for Bihar while it was in power at the Centre.

Bihar got as much financial assistance and special attention as possible during the regime of Congress led UPA government from 2004 to 2014, he added.

“Bihar received additional financial assistance of Rs 8,464 Crores every year from the Centre when Congress led UPA government was in power,” Mr Quadri said adding that proposal of opening two Central Universities had also been approved during the regime of UPA government.
