Ex-servicemen seek Opposition support
1 min readFrustrated by the lack of action on their demand for One Rank One Pension (OROP), ex-servicemen organisations are looking to take support from the Opposition parties for early implementation of the scheme.
“The United Federation of Ex-Servicemen Movement (UFESM) has received feelers from well-wishers of extension of support to its cause by the Bihar units of the JD(U) and the Congress…,” Colonel (retd.) Anil Kaul, media adviser to the UFESM, said on Friday.
‘Only assurances’
Stating that the movement had politely but firmly refused this because of its apolitical stand, Col. Kaul said in view of the “continued intransigence” and “repeated failures to honour assurances” by the present government, “a view towards taking help from the Opposition parties will be actively considered.”
