The incident took place when the victims – Om Prakash Agrawal and his son Varun Kumar Agrwal – were returning to their home in Mungeriganj on a motorbike after closing down their medicine shop. While Om received three bullet injuries, his son suffered injuries in his leg.

The father-son duo were rushed to the Begusarai sadar hospital from where they were later shifted to a private nursing home of the district headquarters town.

The condition of Om Agrawal was stated to be critical. The victims’ family members alleged that they tried to contact senior police officials but in vain.

Later, a police team rushed to the private hospital and recorded the statement of the injured.

Prima facie it appeared to be a case of robbery. “The cause behind the murderous attack on the father-son duo is yet to be ascertained,” said a police officer.
