Massive impact of bank strike in Bihar
1 min readPatna: Banking services across Bihar were crippled today after bank officers and employees from the state joined the nationwide strike called by Union Forum of Bank Unions against 2 per cent proposed hike in salary.
President of Bank Employees’ Federation, Bihar, B Prasad said that all bank branches in Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Chhapra, Hajipur, Motihari, Purnea, Katihar, Biharsharif, Nawada, Ara, Buxar, Munger, Samastipur and other places remained closed. He said striking employees took out rallies at different places and shouted slogans in support of their demands.
In the state capital too, all the bank offices remained closed due to strike. Officers and employees of private banks like ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Yes Bank and other banks also joined their counterparts working in public sector banks to make the strike successful, Mr Prasad added.
