NGT notice to Bihar govt.

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Monday issued notices to the Bihar government and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) after a plea filed by the Bihar Fly Ash Brick Industries Association challenged an office order passed by the State government. The plea had alleged that the State government had modified existing notifications pertaining to the use of fly ash, under “pressure from the red brick kiln mafia.”

The plea stated that under the notification, usage of fly ash for construction purposes had been relaxed to 50% instead of 100%.
