PATNA: Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) Siwan district president Sanjay Sah (35) was stabbed to death over a land dispute allegedly by his family members near his residence at Garhara under the Andar police station area in the district on Saturday night. Union minister and RLSP president Upendra Kushwaha met the aggrieved family on Sunday and announced Rs5 lakh as financial help to the family.

“Sanjay’s father Jaypra kash Sah (60), in his FIR lodged with An der police station on Sunday, has accused his two younger brothers and their four sons,” Siwan SP Naveen Chandra Jha said and added that Sanjay was murdered over property dispute in the family. “All the accused are absconding,” Jha said.

Sanjay was made RLSP district president last month. Jha said Jayprakash had retired as havildar in Siwan district police. Andar SHO Vinay Kumar said Jayprakash had purchased a small plot of land (19 dhur) in his wife’s name after retirement. “He also purchased 1.5 kattha land near that plot in the name of his two brothers Mahamaya Sah and Ramkripal Sah. But the two were pressurising Jayprakash to give them a share in the land purchased in his wife’s name,” the SHO said. He said Mahamaya’s sons Ranjeet and Ajeet and Ramkripal’s sons Premsagar and Gangasagar were named accused in the case.

The SHO said Jayprakash refused them share saying he had already bought 1.5 kattha land for them and the rest he wanted to save for his two sons Sanjay and Mrityunjay. “It was over this dispute that Sanjay was stabbed to death by Mahamaya, Ramkripal and their sons,” the SHO said.
