Seven killed in separate road mishaps in Patna

Patna: Seven persons were killed and five others were injured in separate road accidents in Bihar’s Samastipur, Gopalganj and Buxar districts, police officials said on Friday.

Two persons were killed and five others injured when a a jeep in which they were travelling collided with a truck on NH-28 under Mushrigharari police station area in Samastipur district late last night, Mushrigharari police station in-charge Akhilesh Kumar said.

The deceased were identified as Dharmendra Kumar Patel (40) and Sangita Devi (25), he said, adding the injured persons had been admitted to Sadar hospital at Samastipur and later on referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital.

In another mishap, two bikers were killed in Gopalganj district after a speeding truck rammed into their motorcycle near Chamanpura village under Baikunthpur police station area, Assistant Superintendent of Police(ASP) Anil Kumar said.

The victims were identified as Amrendra Prasad (25) and Harendra Prasad (18), both residents of Basantpur police station area of neighbouring Siwan district, he said.

In the third incident, three bikers were killed after their two-wheeler lost control and fell down in high speed in Buxar district under Nawanagar police station area late last night, Nawanagar police station in-charge Rakesh Kumar said.

The victims were identified as Gautam Yadav (25), Neelkamal Yadav (30) and Raju Yadav (20), he said, adding the bodies had been sent for post-mortem.
