He said that the factory was located at a secluded place to avoid eyes of villager and any suspicion.

“More than 5,000 sacks filled with poor quality cement, 2000 sacks filled with expired cement and at least 2000 empty cement sacks, two tractors and several other equipment were seized from inside the factory,” the SHO said adding new sacks of at least five different brands were also found inside the factory.

“He used to procure cements which got solidified inside sack and later he used to crush it and mix it with new cement and some other items for selling,” he said.

He said Manish told police that he had connections with some big contractors in Patna and other districts to whom he used to supply spurious cements continuously.

Kumar said Manish was running the factory for at least last three years. “He used to shift the factory to different locations regularly after sometime. He perhaps had connections with some people in cement manufacturing industries with help of whom he was getting new sacks,” the SHO said.

He said Manish, in connivance with some retailers, also used to supply the spurious cements to big parties who purchase cements in bulk amount from retailers.

“The contractors purchased the cements at a very low rate for use in several construction. In addition, Manish also used to sell the cement of people in open market at less rates after convincing them that the cements were branded and original,” Kumar said adding further investigation were on in connection with the case.
