nitish-kumarAra/Buxar: CM Nitish Kumar on Sunday said those who had once joined the chorus with him in his struggle for special category status for Bihar are now full of praise for BJP’s prime minister pick Narendra Modi.

Addressing an election meeting at Bihia, Nitish berated his Gujarat counterpart Narendra Modi and said his image had become larger than life and party due to media hype. He said the divisive and dictatorial utterances of BJP’s prime ministerial candidate run contrary to the dictum enshrined in Indian philosophy. “India can’t afford to have a prime minister with such dangerous propensities,” Nitish said. Rubbishing NaMo’s claims about Gujarat’s development, Nitish holes in the Gujarat model of development adding unemployment was rampant due to closure of hundreds of factories. “In Gujarat, the neglected tribal population had increased from 81% to 85%,” said Nitish.

The CM said in Gujarat over two lakh child labourers were engaged in cotton farming and malnutrition among women and children was alarming.

He said memories of communal riot in Gujarat were still fresh in the mind of the people adding capitalists who are funding the BJP would realize the same from the people if the BJP was voted to power. The BJP and RJD leaders were interested in their relatives but he cared for only Bihar and warned the youth not to be swayed by false promises. The CM said BJP had no regard for elders in the party adding ‘BJP ke teen dharohar: Atal, Advani and Murali Manohar were treated with disrespect’.

Ridiculing RJD national president Lalu Prasad, Nitish said he was moving with a lit lantern garnering votes. “During the 15-year RJD rule, Bihar had reached a point of no return, but now the state was being counted among the fast developing states,” the CM said adding Bihar might benefit in payment of taxes, prevent migration of labourers, provide opportunity to employment and establishment of factories in special category was granted.

Nitish said a numerically strong JD (U) in Lok Sabha would mean a major step towards creating massive employment opportunities for the youth. He said his government was committed to linking all villages having a population of 250 people with road and providing electricity to every village within two-and-a-half years. He exhorted people to vote for JD (U) nominee from Ara Meena Singh.

Addressing an election meeting at Dumraon Raj High School ground in Buxar LS constituency, Nitish Kumar said the new leadership of BJP has no respect for people of Bihar. “Whenever Narendra Modi comes to Bihar, he comments on me by joking “Bihar me bijli aati hai to khabar ban jati hai”.

“I am seeking mandate on the basis of work I have done. Earlier, Bihar generated only 700 mw but now we are generating and transmitting 2300 MW that would be increased to 4,000 MW by 2015,” Nitish said adding the state government is committed to establishing a minimum of one power substation in every block and a grid substation in every subdivision.

Nitish also commented on BJP for fielding outsiders from Buxar, Ara and Karakat constituencies and exhorted the people to ensure their defeat. Shyamlal Kushwaha, JD (U) nominee from Buxar, also addressed the meeting.
