Govt engineer nabbed for accepting bribe in Muzaffarpur
1 min readThe Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of the Bihar Police today caught an official of the Minor Water Resources Department red-handed while accepting a bribe.
Minor Water Resources superintending engineer Sudarshan Singh, who was posted at Muzaffarpur tubewell circle, was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000, EOU IG Praveen Vashista said.
Singh had been demanding money from his junior colleague Pawan Kumar Ram, posted as executive engineer (tubewell) in Siwan for being his boss, Vashista said.
“Ram approached us a few days ago. We verified the complaint and found it to be true. Accordingly, we set a trap and arrested him from his official premises,” the IG said.
An FIR has been lodged against Singh, who has been brought to Patna for interrogation and will be produced at the Muzaffarpur special court, he said.
